The Process

Day 1 to Day 3: Preparation and Skimming

• We began by carefully preparing all surfaces, protecting flooring, bannisters, and adjacent rooms to ensure a clean job site.

• Existing cracks and imperfections were filled and stabilized.

• PVA was applied to bond the new plaster securely to the existing surfaces.

• Over the course of three days, we systematically skimmed the hallway, stairs, and landing using high-quality multifinish plaster, ensuring a consistently smooth finish from floor to ceiling.

Working over multiple levels and around tight corners on staircases requires precision and experience, but we completed the work neatly and without delay.

Pam’s entrance areas were completely transformed:

• Fresh, bright surfaces ready for painting after a standard drying period of around 5–7 days.
