Living Room Ceiling Transformation in Wilmcote – Plastering Project for Terry

The Brief

Terry’s living room ceiling needed skimming to bring it back to a flawless, paint-ready condition. Rather than replacing the ceiling (which would have been costly and messy), skimming offered the ideal solution — affordable, quick, and highly effective.

The Process

We planned the work to minimize disruption, ensuring Terry’s living space would be back to normal as quickly as possible.

• Protection First: All floors, light fittings, and nearby furniture were carefully covered with plastic sheeting and dust sheets.

• Surface Preparation: The existing ceiling was cleaned down, loose materials were removed, and PVA adhesive was applied to promote a perfect bond.

• Skimming: Using British Gypsum Multifinish, we applied two thin coats by hand, ensuring a consistently flat and smooth surface across the entire ceiling.

• Final Finish: After smoothing and blending all joins and edges, the result was a ceiling that looked brand new.

The entire project was completed in just one day, leaving the room clean and ready for drying out before painting.

The Result

Terry’s living room has been completely lifted by the fresh, clean ceiling. Now, with just a lick of paint, the room will feel bigger, brighter, and much more modern.
